Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into a family in South London. She's English, and her father was Nigerian. Her family was raised in the south of a London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She attended an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London where she gained a BA in acting. She appeared in many stage productions during her school days, including King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe first began her career as an actor with the film Storm Damage. Since then, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's first film of debut is that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Her popularity has led her to be cast in Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. She played Bambi as Bambi in The ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedic comedy released in 2008. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes on The CW, and was eventually ended. In February 2011, she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was revealed that Madekwe, who had been a series regular in the past two seasons, would be leaving the show with a guest appearance on the premier episode of the new season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred as Tituba the television series Salem. In June 2012, Madekwe married her long-time boyfriend actor Iddo Goldberg. The two have collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he is also a part of the cast on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, is a member of a large family living in Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's athletic brothers played baseball during summers as well as hockey in winter. Ashley was unable to walk, but was able to dance. In the end, when she turned 2, she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley was captivated by dance at this age. Ashley was a top competitor in divisions of tap, jazz hip hop, ballet lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe until she graduated from high school. The top soloist at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more were awarded to Ashley.
